Dr. Lindsay Anmuth earned a Doctorate in Combined-Integrated Clinical and School Psychology from the APA-accredited program at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Prior to that, she earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and International Studies from Rowan University.

Dr. Anmuth has over 14 years of clinical experience and has worked with clients across a wide range of settings, including in various private practice settings, the Veterans Health Administration, a state psychiatric hospital, community mental health, university counseling centers, and a Virginia public school system.
Dr. Anmuth encourages her clients to develop insight and self-awareness so that they may leave problematic patterns behind. She guides others in gaining control of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and assists them with moving forward in a way that is most adaptive for them. Change often requires motivation, courage, honesty, assertiveness, and skill. Dr. Anmuth helps her clients to develop in each of those areas, all within an authentic and caring therapeutic relationship. She is an integrative psychotherapist who tends to most often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy while also incorporating acceptance-based approaches, family systems, and attachment theory.
Dr. Anmuth’s treatment specialties include: anxiety, trauma and PTSD, relationships, LGBTQ dynamics, , worry and perfectionism, and family systems. She is a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and a designated provider of the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, with Level 2 training. She is also certified to provide CBT for a broad range of concerns.
